India’s solar pump market set to expand – pv magazine International

As per this article, “1 kW solar power plant emits around 0.8 kilogram of CO2 per kilowatt-hour of solar power generated”. Now that is incredibly high. How?, is my question. To the best of my knowledge a solar power plant is a stationary unit that absorbs solar rays to generate electricity. Then how is it emitting CO2? This shows the pathetic state of journalism in our country. No critical thinking whatsoever.
