Inter vs AC Milan: Predicted line

Inter have a two-goal lead to protect as they take their turn to play hosts in a historic Milan Derby

For the first time in 20 years, AC Milan and Inter are facing off in a two-legged Champions League semi-final Milan Derby, and the Nerazzurri have a lead to protect as they prepare for the second leg this week. Inter beat Milan in what was the Rossoneri's home leg 2-0 last week.

Now, Simone Inzaghi will be expecting his side to get the job done and book their place in Istanbul's final where they may face Real Madrid or Manchester City, whose semi-final is locked at 1-1 after the first leg.

Inter have been finding form at just the right time this season as far as picking up silverware is concerned. Although their 11 Serie A losses saw them a long way away in the title race, they are now in the Coppa Italia final and have a chance to reach the Champions League final for the first time in 13 years as well. To help their chances, Romelu Lukaku is finding real form at the back-end of the campaign and is hoping to convince the side to keep him on after his loan from Chelsea ends.

Inter come into this second leg in relatively good shape. They rested a number of players for their 4-2 win over Sassuolo on the weekend, though will be without long-term absentee Milan Skriniar, who has played his last game for the club. Joaquin Correa also picked up a knock on Saturday.

For Milan, Stefano Pioli will hope to have Rafael Leao ready to return to the XI, having missed the first leg and the loss at Spezia over the weekend. Junior Messias, Rade Krunic and Ismael Bennacer also missed that game.

Inter predicted line-up (3-5-2): Onana; Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Martinez, Dzeko.

AC Milan predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Hernandez; Tonali, Pobega; Diaz, Krunic, Saelemaekers; Giroud.

The so-called Euroderby between Inter and Milan kicks off at 21:00 CEST - local time in Northern Italy - which makes it a 20:00 BST start for viewers in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In the United States, the game is set to start at 15:00 EDT / 12:00 PDT.
