Everton vs Manchester City: Predicted line

May 25, 2023

There is a huge amount riding on the game for both teams

Everton host Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday, with both teams knowing that a win is essential for their goals this season.

Everton have been given a new lease of life in the battle to stay in the Premier League after they won 5-1 away at Brighton and Hove Albion, though they may have wished for a simpler opponent than City to try and build on that win.

As for Pep Guardiola's side, they know that if they can just win all of their remaining four games, then the title will be theirs again.

Considering how well Everton played away at Brighton in their last game, Sean Dyche is very unlikely to alter the starting XI as long as there are no late injury concerns. They will be without Seamus Coleman, Andros Townsend, Ben Godfrey and Ruben Vinagre.

Guardiola has more to juggle than Dyche given City played against Real Madrid in midweek.

Players like Julian Alvarez, Phil Foden and Riyad Mahrez may well come into the starting XI, with the Champions League semi-final second leg in mind this midweek.

Everton's predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Patterson, Mina, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Iwobi, Doucoure, McNeil; Calvert-Lewin.

Manchester City's predicted line-up (3-2-4-1): Ederson; Walker, Dias, Laporte; Rodri, Lewis; Mahrez, Alvarez, Gundogan, Foden; Haaland.

Sunday afternoon's match between Everton and Manchester City kicks off at 14:00 BST, which is local time in England.

For American viewers, the match will begin at 09:00 ET/ 06:00 PT.

The Premier League clash between Everton and Manchester City will take place at Goodison Park on Sunday, May 14.

For those in the UK, the game can be watched on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event, while viewers in the USA can tune in via NBC.
