Two of the favourites meet

Two of the pre-tournament outright favourites come up against each other in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday night as holders Real Madrid play host to the bookies' favourites, Manchester City.

Real Madrid come into this game fresh off the back of a Copa del Rey final victory over Osasuna on Saturday, whilst Manchester City kept a hand on the Premier League title by beating Leeds United 2-1 at home.

City are yet to ever win the Champions League and with Inter or AC Milan awaiting the winner of this tie in the final, there is a feeling that if they can get past Real Madrid, they could be on course for glory.

Carlo Ancelotti will not be able to call upon Eder Militao in this first leg at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu as he is suspended, whilst Ferland Mendy is still out. Luka Modric may recover fully to start after playing from the bench against Osasuna.

Pep Guardiola could bring Kyle Walker back into the starting eleven because Nathan Ake suffered an injury against Leeds that may rule him out here. Beyond that, Guardiola has got the majority of his superb squad to call upon.
